Job summary
Collaborate with the CEO and/or immediate supervisor, Medical Director, Business manager and clinical staff to manage, assess, and enhance the provision of patient care services in the medical clinic to meet the continuous quality improvement, customer service, programmatic growth and financial requirements supporting the mission of 3W and Women's Accessible Medical Services (WAMS). Develop, implement and monitor staffing plans scheduling and staff development to meet current and anticipated needs and to maintain compliance with patient safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential job functions and accountabilities
(other duties may be assigned)
Definition: “Clinician” is used below to represent licensed independent providers, such as MD, DO, DN and ARNP (Nurse Practitioner)
1. Coordination of patient care
a. Work with CEO and Medical Director to ensure appropriate staffing of clinicians and support clinical staff as needed to provide safe and appropriate patient care.
b. Triage and assist patient care and follow up as allowed per standing orders and in alignment with nursing scope as listed in RCW 18.79.040

2. Staff supervision, coordination of clinician schedules to ensure smooth clinical operations
a. Provide direct supervision of assigned staff, addressing training and performance issues, resolving conflicts and maintain clinic staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage to ensure patient access and appropriate staffing levels in order to provide safe patient care.
b. Continually assess operational objectives, clinic organization structure and work processes to ensure optimal skill mix and staffing levels.
c. Implement consistent performance management practices; define and communicate goals and perform objectives; developing and implementing evaluation criteria that define highly competent and high performing individuals.
3. Mange initiatives and processes directed at enhancing excellent customer service
a. Solicit staff, clinicians and patient feedback and ensure timely and effective response to complaints and problems.
b. Collaborate with business manager on processes to enhance patient satisfaction around billing practices.
4. Regulatory compliance
a. Ensure that the unit complies with all regulatory standards including AAAHC, Washington Department of Health, OSHA, CDC, HIPAA and others as needed.
b. Regularly review and update policies and procedures collaborating with appropriate subject matter experts where applicable such as Medical Director, CEO and Business Manager
5. Participate in leadership and strategic planning
a. Participate in organization wide fundraising efforts
b. Attend and participate in leadership meetings and committees as necessary
c. Maintain and assist in development and maintenance of policies and procedures
d. Maintain current clinical knowledge through independent reading, study and attendance at conferences/seminars and learning opportunities as they arise.
e. Communicate and demonstrate service priorities and expectations to staff, leading staffing meetings, communicating updates cascaded down from senior leadership and Board of Directors and ensure that staff are informed and up to date on their daily workflows.
f. Resolve issues directly as able and utilize proper chain of command.
i. In conjunction with the Medical Director and Business Manager, coach and mentor staff to develop the best multi-disciplinary staff as all areas work together to create ap positive and sustainable work culture.
6. Monitor Clinical Operations Budget
a. Participate in budget preparation at the direction of the Business Manager and CEO.
b. Manage reports and evaluate direct expenses routinely and at least once per month.
7. Additional Duties as Assigned.
Competencies and qualifications
Education and Licensure
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Active, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse License
CPR certification (may be accomplished after hire)
Professional Experience
Two to five years of clinical experience, women’s health preferred.
Experience in development, implementation, monitoring, or evaluation of medical policies and procedures.
Experience in patient advocacy or case management comparable to that periodically carried out by either inpatient or outpatient nurses: for example by researching and facilitating resources such as community services, access to health insurance information, home care, or similar case management and social work functions.
