Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant who plays a key role assisting in the clinical care of patients according to the scope of duties described in RCW 18.360.050.

The Medical Assistant helps to ensure that care is conducted in accordance with established standards
of care and organizational policies and procedures. The Medical Assistant works with the Medical
Director and Clinical Nurse Director to review clinical policies and procedures, to follow compliance
policies and procedures and to participate in quality improvement programs.

Essential Job Functions And Accountabilities

Please note: “Clinician” is used below to represent licensed independent practitioners, such as MD, ND,
DO, and ARNP (Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistants

  1. Works collaboratively with Medical Director and Clinic Manager to promote care of patients
    according to the organizational mission and values.

  2. Follows clinic policies and procedures and practices standard precautions.
